A Taxonomy of WT Presidents/GB
by breakfast of champions in[this is what happens when the semester ends.
idle hands.
so i was thinking of how you would categorize the presidents of the wt, and i came up with this:.
-
Wasanelder Once
Russell = Egotistical fanatic
Rutherford = Self appointed fascist prophet and Opportunist
Knorr = Goosestepping inheritor of the status quo
Franz = Delusional Bible reading Watchtower wizard.
Herd = Just happy to join the club with the big white boys.
Jackson = Makes a marsupial look bright.
Splane = Obviously an accountant who found his way to being a WT "yes" man.
Losch = Goebbels evil religious twin.
Sanderson = Girls just want to have fun!

In 1967 Richard Avedon published a poster of his portraits of the Beatles. (see below). My JW aunt attacked it for being spiritualistic! The "third" eye on George's palm was spiritualistic! We were inviting demons into the house! We should get rid of it now! My parents were just learning and my mom took it to heart. My dad was/is skeptical to this day. At 10 years old I didn't know what to think. I liked the poster though. How was if for you when it came to images that Uber dubs call "demonized"? What did they discourage you from having and enjoying?

My presentation (new one here!)
by Skepsis ini registered in the board and i wanted to present myself.. i used to visit this forum some time ago and even register an account but then i tried to convince myself all was ok in the congregation.
now, i'm coming back :).
i live in a southern european nation, i'm a young jw, a good example in the congregation serving as a regular pioneer and ms. for all in the congregation i'm the good guy, one of the best examples in the area i live.

Skepsis, its hard to balance the rational understanding of real life with the fictional world of the Watchtower. In time reality will be the better choice. Some find it better to jump into a body of cold water, others just take their time and acclimate to it. You know yourself, do it at your own pace. Just know that no one in the organization is pivotal. Once one steps aside another steps in, no one misses you for long, trust me. Live your life and don't give all those precious years to the men in New York state.

They Offered Their Son Willingly—To Bethelite Brothers
by betterdaze inthey offered themselves willingly—in new yorkricky, a construction project manager in hawaii, was invited to serve as a commuter bethelite to assist with the warwick project.
his wife, kendra, wanted him to accept the invitation.
however, they had a legitimate concern: the welfare of their 11-year-old son, jacob.

Lostandfound, some JW's came from the "World" and have a bankroll because they were not janitors before becoming zealots. The WT would never tell you that of course. Could be?

A Brother refusing to pray?
by HereIgo ini remember there was a brother in my congregation while i was in who would comment at all meetings but if asked to pray at a meeting or meeting for service he would always politely refuse.
i always found it odd, i assumed as a young bro, that a bro was kind of obligated to pray if asked.
knowing what i know now, it could have been a guilty conscience or maybe he just wanted to be lowkey.

If on private reproof, not so common these days, even the Ministerial Servants would be informed not to use him for privileges. So he was just not into it. It happens.

Jehovah's Limp Witnesses Pointed Me to JW.org When I Was Willing to Talk
by steve2 inseveral months ago i approached a nice young couple who were standing by a jw literature stand in my local community.
they were pleasant and polite but incredibly stilted when it came to answering my "innocent" questions about their beliefs.
this was the occasion of jws featuring the article headlined "is religion dying?".

I think the Gov body is discouraging conversations in an effort to keep the RF from hearing all the negative they would hear otherwise. The indefensible can decay some people's trust in the Governing Blotto.
